As you probably know by now, I always travel with my Mom and support my Whippet and IG "brothers" in all their sports. Well, one day, we were at a Lure Course, and I got to watch all the sighthounds chase this crazy "bunny" that went all over the field. I really wanted to try!! The club giving the event was called OKIGO, and they had a Lure Course for "non-sighthounds" like me. I could NOT believe Mom was actually taking ME up to the starting line. I was so excited I was jumping and barking and shaking. The lure took off, and I heard someone say "Tally Ho!" and then MOM LET GO OF MY COLLAR. She said "GET THE BUNNY DEEJ!" Well, you don't have to tell me twice! I took off running as fast as I could after the bunny. Then all the sudden that sucker turned and changed directions. "Whoa"....brake, brake, brake....I turned and took off after it. Now I was a little wiser, and stayed right on that bunny's "tail", the whole way around the field. I ran 690 yards! Mom was SO proud of me she had tears in her eyes. The lure finally stopped and I grabbed it and gave it a shake to let it know I was the MAN. Gosh that was FUN! Now I know why my Brothers get so excited about running.
